The Role:

The Solutions Engineer (SE) will be a key member of the sales team for the Utilities & Communications Business Unit by enhancing our solution deployment capabilities and advancing sales initiatives with utilities and communication companies in targeted geographies and accounts. The SE will report to the Solutions Engineering Manager and support two functions within the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

The solution engineer will enhance ikeGPS’ solution deployment capabilities and service revenue by adding their OSP and utility distribution and communication infrastructure experience to the services we provide that enable customer success. The SE will rely heavily on their past experiences to lead consulting services to help our customers successfully deploy IKE solutions and develop strategies for optimizing productivity, safety, and quality for their projects and programs.
Contribute to the sales initiatives focused on winning key accounts as defined by the Business Unit SVP and sales team members in North America. ikeGPS has already identified many significant electric utilities, communication companies, and engineering service providers and our ability to win, and grow the opportunities will be improved by the SE’s ability to articulate and demonstrate how the IKE 4 will enhance the workflow and deliverables for our target customers. The SE is required to be a Subject Matter Expert in the IKE Solution and demonstrate its use and benefits for applications such as Make Ready Engineering, Joint Use, and As-built Audits. As a member of the sales team, the SE will be expected to provide written and verbal feedback to product management in pursuit of our efforts to continually improve our solutions and bring new solutions to market.

The Solutions Engineer will require a proven track record with the following:

  • Deliver highly effective presentations to utilities, communication companies and engineering service providers on IKE products
  • Be knowledgeable and conversant about our integration with the primary applications that our customers in the utility and communication market use such as pole loading and GIS
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills required to troubleshoot technical customer issues
  • Customer advocate, passing on feedback or enhancement requests
  • Conduct deployment needs analysis and create deployment plans to support customer success with IKE solutions
  • Available to travel (expected travel 25-50%)
  • A deep passion for being outdoors helping others implement our technology
  • The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with utilities, communication companies and engineering service providers
  • Team player who can establish and maintain strong relationships across the Sales, Product Management and Support teams
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base and evolving solutions
  • Professional, with extremely strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively present concepts and ideas to groups of people
  • 5+ years’ experience in Utility and Communication industries as it relates to the end-to-end workflow for applications such as fiber optic and small cell network deployments, joint use audits, pole replacement programs and post-construction as-built audits.
  • College degree or comparable work experience required.
  • Knowledge of support software (desk.com), GIS, GPS, PLA Software, and mobile products and services is a plus.
